Per press statement released during the demonstration of Cumartesi İnsanları on 15th March 2014, Mehmet Yaşar was taken on 28th February 1994 by plainclothes policemen from a friend’s house where he was chased to by security officers during the funeral of a friend of his, whose body had been discovered shortly after his abduction by armed men.
