Per news article published in Özgür Gündem Newspaper on 24th May 2011, twenty-eight-year-old Sıdıka Dal was active in the Kurdish political movement and he was receiving threats from Hizbullah members. In 1993, he received a phone call from Hizbullah members who invited him to Nusaybin to give his statement about an issue. When he went to Nusaybin with his brother, their car was stopped and Sıdıka Dal was kidnapped. His family suspected two brothers affiliated with Hizbullah; however due to the atmosphere of fear that reigned in the region at the time, the refrained from filing a complaint. Years later, the brothers spent four months in prison on a different charge.
