Per Yakay-Der records, Bingöl-born,forty-five-year-old Mehmet Saydın was living in Diyarbakır and was working as a commissioner in the transportation sector. On 10th February 1995, while he was on his way to work with his son, he was taken into custody by plain-clothes police officers following an ID check.

His dead body was discovered on 16th February 1992 in a canal of Devegeçidi dam. His body was identified by his wife on 21st February 1995.
