Per press statement released by the 28th July 2012 and petitions lodged by family members to the Presidency of the Republic and the Governorship, Zeynel Kürsep was abducted by two armed men while he was in front of the Batman Public Hospital on 24th March 1994.
His father searched for him to no avail. He has not been seen or heard from, nor have his bodily remains been found.
A man, who was abducted and later released on ransom in 1994 by the Hizbullah Organization claimed that Zeynel had been kept at a house across the street from the hospital before being moved to a basement where he was kept along with himself, Mahmut Demirel, Zeynel Kürsep, Resul Saçan, İsmail Ağaya and Hacı Selim’s son.

On 29th March 1994, the father of Zeynel Kürsep, was abducted by two armed men while he was in front of the Batman Public Hospital five days prior, made the first of his many applications to search for his son. Per witness accounts, Zeynel had been placed under custody; however, the authorities claimed not to have any information about his whereabouts. Zeynel’s father applied to the Presidency of the Republic, the Governorship of Batman and the HADEP party (People’s Democracy Party), to no avail.
A man, who was abducted and later released on ransom in 1994 by the Hizbullah Organization claimed that Zeynel had been kept at a house across the street from the hospital before being moved to a basement where he was kept along with himself, Mahmut Demirel, Zeynel Kürsep, Resul Saçan, İsmail Ağaya and Hacı Selim’s son.
Despite his father’s efforts, Zeynel’s body has not been located in the mass graves of the Hizbullah.
