Per press statement released by Cumartesi İnsanları on 29th November 2014, Mustafa Erizk was a married father of four who made a living doing odd jobs. In May 1994, during a raid by the military on the village that he was living in, he was handcuffed and driven out of the village in a military vehicle, that later stopped and remained parked outside the village for hours. After the vehicle left, Mustafa Erzik’s shoe was found at the site along with blood. Four days later, his dead body was found by shepherds. The authorities denied placing Mustafa Erzik under custody. Per official records, he was killed in a shoot-out.
