According to the records of Association for Solidarity and Support for Relatives of Disappeared Persons and the plaintiff testimony in the investigation file, on 30th November 1995, Salih Yusuf Tahir, his cousin Süleyman Halil Teli and nephew, Abdurrahman Hoca Suho returned from Iraq via Habur Border Gate. Then they took a taxi from Silopi to Cizre. The taxi was stopped in front of the Botaş Gendarmerie Station Command and the passengers were taken to the station. Just before the driver was released, Salih Yusuf Tahir gave him money to inform his family that they were taken into custody.
The three men have not been seen or heard from, nor have their bodily remains been discovered.
The families searched from the three men, to no avail. In 2008, upon Şırnak Bar Association’s request, the Office of the Silopi Chief Public Prosecutor declared that there would be an exhumation in certain areas suspected to be mass graves. Salih Yusuf Tahir’s brother, (Süleyman Halil Teli’s cousin and Abdurrahman Hoca Şuho’s uncle) was among the 57 plaintiffs who requested an exhumation and an investigation into the extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearance of a total of 54 people during 1990s. In 2009, some bones were found in the exhumation conducted in the former Gendarmerie Station Command in Botaş. However, according to the forensic report, the bones belonged to animals.
