Per Yakay-Der records and press statement released by Cumartesi İnsanları on 13th October 2012, Turgut Yenisoy was a 28-year-old shopkeeper living in the Bismil district of Diyarbakır. Prior to his disappearance, he had been taken into custody and it was alleged that his shop had been burnt down due to his refusal to become an informant for the security forces. On the night of 4th October 1994, he was woken up by three specialized sergeants working for JİTEM and taken from his house in a white Toros car. His family applied to various authorities, all to no avail. He has not been heard from or seen, nor have his bodily remains been found.
