Per Yakay-Der records, Mehmet Emin Doğru lived in Batman with his wife and five children and made a living as a farmer. He was 36 years-old. He had been threatened before his enforced disappearance and his landlord had wanted him to get out of the apartment he was renting because, he, also, was threatened by unknown men to do so over the telephone.

On 23rd November 1993, he went to the field to collect reeds. Per eyewitness accounts he was forced into a white car and kidnapped by gunned men in front of the Batman E-Type prison.

Due to the severe conditions prevailing at the time, his wife could not apply to the authorities to find him.

Per his neighbours’ account, about four years after his disappearance, one day, he came to his house with 15 plain-clothes men while his wife and daughter were away on the farm, hugged his children who were there and then, went off without any explanation at all.

He has not been heard from or seen since then, nor have his bodily remains been found.
