Per annual report of Human Rigts Foundation of Turkey for year 1995 and news article published in the Cumhuriyet Newspaper on 2nd July 2017; Hüseyin Ertaş, who was abducted by four armed men from his house in the Çalpınar Village of the Kızıltepe District of Mardin on 8th July 1995, was found dead near the village on 13th July.

The relatives of Hüseyin Ertaş applied to the Kızıltepe Public Prosecution Office after the abduction and made a complaint against village guards but they had to withdraw it due to threats.

In 2006, Ertaş’s son filed a new complaint, alleging that the village guards had abducted his father following orders from the Kızıltepe Gendarmerie Commander, however the Prosecutor’s Office did not launch an investigation.
