According to the petition that İhsan Kavak’s father submitted to the Batman Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Siirt-born, 25 year-old İhsan Kavak was working at the Başaran Taxi-stand in Batman city. He was married and had one child. On 22nd May 1994, he left the taxi-stand with a customer, but did not return. His father started searching for him and applied to the Batman Public Prosecutor’s Office in order to have an investigation launched into his son’s abduction. 15 days later, İhsan Kavak’s taxi was located in the İpragaz neighbourhood of Batman; but, İhsan was not found, nor were his bodily remains located.
