Per Yakay-Der records and press statement released by Cumartesi İnsanları on 22nd September 2012, nineteen-year-old Edip Çelik lived in the Zorava (Soğuksu) village of Batman with his family. On the evening of 10th July 1994, four armed men wearing masks came to their house and told his father İbrahim Çelik to show them the house of a man trading tobacco. As İbrahim Çelik was leaving the house with the armed men, Edip joined them so as not to leave his father alone; they have not been seen or heard from, nor have their bodies been found.
The family filed criminal complaints for them multiple times to no avail; they were declared legally dead in may 2003.

The following day, on 11th August 1994, İbrahim Çelik’s mother applied to the Batman Central District Gendarmerie Station to inquire about her husband and son who had left their house with armed and masked men; she was told that they were not under detention. Until August 2003, she submitted several criminal complaints to various authorities about Hizbullah members that she suspected, to no avail.
In May 2003, the two men were declared legally dead.
