Per archives of the Batman Bar Association and the Batman Çağdaş Newspaper article reporting on the issue on 23rd December 2013, Hüseyin and İskender Sevim, both residing in the Balpınar town of Batman, were forcibly taken away by a group of around 15 armed individuals wearing snow masks, just as the Sevim brothers and other family members were finishing up work on the family’s tobacco field on the evening of 5th September 1993. The Sevim family’s many efforts to locate the two brothers, including the family’s visits to the Batman Central Gendarmerie Station and İskender’s wife’s application to the Human Rights Association (İHD) among her other attempts, all proved to be fruitless. Hüseyin and İskender Sevim have not been found, nor have their dead bodies been located.
