Per press statement released on 26th October 2013 by Cumartesi İnsanları and Yakay-Der records, on 26th April 1991 while the twenty-four year-old Hüseyin Toraman was away, the Gebze police force and the İstanbul anti-terrorism unit organized an operation on his house unbeknownst to each other; in the shoot-out that ensued between the two security forces, a police officer died. Upon return, Hüseyin Toraman found revenge vows written on his walls.
On 27th October 1991, as Hüseyin Toraman was on his way to the grocery store in his new neighbourhood, he was abducted by armed plainclothes men driving a white car.
His family and human rights activists searched for him to no avail.
He has not been seen or heard from, nor have his bodily remains been found.

The investigation that was launched in 1991 by the Fatih Public Prosecutor’s Office into the abduction of Hüseyin Toraman in İstanbul by armed plainclothes men driving a white car did not yield any results.
In October 2011, a new investigation was initiated by the İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office upon an information request made by the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey; however, it was later dismissed due to statute of limitations.
