Per press statement released by Cumartesi İnsanları on 17th August 2013 and news article published by Cumhuriyet Newspaper on 18th August 2013, 1960-born Osman Buluttekin had moved to the Kulp district of Diyarbakır after his village had been burnt down. Three months before his disappearance, he had been released from prison after serving 15 months and had been receiving threats. On the night of 23rd August 1995, his house was raided by four armed men introducing themselves as police officers and he was taken away. His family searched for him to no avail. He has not been heard from or seen, nor have his bodily remains been found.
