Per Yakay-Der records and petitions submitted by Resul Saçan’s father to the Governorship and the Ministry of Human Rights, twenty-eight-year-old butcher Resul Saçan lived in Batman. He had no political affiliation or prior history of detention. On 9th August 1994, he was abducted by several men as he rode his bicycle home from work.
Despite his father’s efforts to find him, he was not seen or heard from, nor were his bodily remains found.
A man, who was abducted and released on ransom in November 1994 by the Hizbullah organization claimed that he had been kept in the basement of a house along with Mahmut Demirel, Zeynel Kürsep, Resul Saçan, İsmail Ağaya and an unknown man.
